Description rupert huber fluss
from „easy to play piano pieces“

fluss is a personal definition of a piano piece that i would like to play -easy to play on the first sight, but maybe it takes a while to understand what it is about.
the title „fluss“ means RIVER in german, the music is meant to pass by like the water of a river. technically, it is a personal statement as well: being left handed, i often had to fight with the rhythmical /“bassline“ function of the left hand, the right hand playing the melody. i like a pulse, or a steady beat, so i decided to reverse the function of the hands, the right hand playing the „beat“, and left the melody. it is also a definition of my work with scales, this one being the one for fluss, like a defined tonality for this very piece. all of these decision had to be „naive“ in a very positive way, meaning simpel and easy, like the truth often is.
i wrote and played fluss myself.

Haunting and profound. Its ambient nature sparks curiosity and awe. Strophes are seductively dark. A masterpiece of mood.
